About Horsham Happenings

Horsham Happenings is a community news and events web site for things that are happening in the Horsham area.

I've developed and managed web sites for a bunch of different groups in the area, some of the larger ones being Horsham Soccer, HHoops, and Horsham Little League. Each of these groups are pretty large and their sites all get a lot of traffic - even in the off-season.

There are also a lot of great, but smaller groups and events in the area and we've often posted information about these groups on the larger youth sports web sites to raise awareness. These postings often result in an email saying thanks from someone who was really interested in a certain event or group but hadn't known about it before.

As you can see from the Horsham Happenings home page, there are a lot of groups doing a lot of neat things, so posting all these on the soccer or little league web sites wasn't practical. Horsham Happenings was created instead.

The main idea behind the Horsham Happenings web site is to publicize - in one place - all the activities and events that go on in a community like ours, and make it a great place to live, work, and play. Large youth sports groups like those above but also smaller ones like Hawks Football and Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse, our community police group Horsham ChATs, the Horsham Preservation and Historical Society , Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce , Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation, College Settlement Camp and many more. (all groups are shown on the lower left side of the home page - let us know what's missing...)

There is no charge for posting news and events for non-profit groups, so let us know what your group is doing.

For Profit groups may also participate by posting events, advertising, or listing your company in our Horsham Area Business Directory. A great way to support the site, showcase your business, and reach the local community!

Some things you should know if you'd like to particpate by listing your group's events or advertising your business:

The target audience for this site is a broad demographic within a rather small geographic area: Horsham and the surrounding area in Eastern Montgomery and Central Bucks counties in PA.

Our goals are to:

• Provide an easy way for groups in the area to publicize their events and the work they are doing
• Provide an easy way for people in the community to find out about the many groups and organizations in the area, and the activities and events that these groups are involved in
• Provide an easy way for local businesses to reach the community, advertise their products or services, and publicize events they may be sponsoring or hosting
• Provide an easy way for people in the community to find local businesses and the products or services they offer

Listings on the site will be applicable to the public in general, and as an invitation to the public to participate. Exceptions would be events such as back to school nights, etc. that are not really public events but would impact a large part of the community.

Language on the site will be suitable for a family audience.

Horsham Happenings is not a news source, should not be considered journalism, and will not take editorial positions. The publication of news, events, and advertising; and the participation of groups and businesses are at the sole discretion of Horsham Happenings. Any group or business which does not want to participate will be removed at their request.
