Seminars

Short seminars will be offered throughout the course of the show on topics such as:

  • Lead Paint Removal
  • Solar Power - Photo-Voltaic Cells
  • Rotted Wood Repairs

Exhibitors will be available throughout the entire show to discuss practical approaches to solving the problems of historic and non-historic buildings.

In addition to the seminars, presentations will run throughout the day on Historic Houses of Horsham featuring a slide presentation of the many historically significant buildings in this area, and When it Rains it Drains presentation on storm water management.

Going Green

Everyone is getting more environmentally and energy conscious, but these issues are of particular significance to owners of older or historic homes. Older homes are often much less energy efficient and therefore very expensive to heat and cool. Owners of older homes also have the additional constraint of modernizing the mechanical and electric systems without changing the character and aesthetics of the building.

The Historic Home Show will offer various environmentally friendly solutions to home and energy problems. As an example we will present and discuss a detailed proposal to make historic homes energy independent using the Pennrose-Strawbridge House as an example.
